Conlon Construction delivered a new purpose-built research and development facility for SIKA Liquid Plastics, creating a modern, high-specification environment designed to support innovation, product development and technical excellence.
Constructed within SIKA’s existing Preston site, the three-storey facility provides the specialist laboratory, office and welfare space required to support the company’s continued growth and investment in research and development.
The Challenge
The project required the delivery of a highly functional technical facility capable of supporting specialist research and development activities from day one.
Working within an operational manufacturing environment, the programme demanded careful coordination, rigorous quality control and close collaboration with the client to ensure the finished building met exacting performance standards while remaining on programme and within budget.

Conlon delivered the project from groundworks through to final fit-out, including:

- External building envelope and façade installation
- Internal fit-out and finishing works

Working closely with our supply chain and design partners, we identified opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs without compromising quality. This included redesigning key M&E elements and retaining existing site infrastructure where appropriate to maximise value for the client.
The Outcome
The completed facility provides SIKA Liquid Plastics with a modern research and development hub designed to support innovation, collaboration and future growth.
Delivered on programme, within budget and with zero defects at handover, the project is a strong example of Conlon’s collaborative approach and commitment to quality.
