BUILDING A NEW SCHOOL FOR A GROWING COMMUNITY
Client: Cheshire East Council
Conlon Construction completed the £8.6m Kingsbourne Academy development at Kingsley Fields in Nantwich, delivering a new 210-place primary school for North West Academies Trust. The 19,000 sq ft, two-storey facility was designed to support primary education and provide space for learning, sport and play. The school welcomed its first Reception pupils following completion.
The Challenge
The project required a new primary school to support the growing Kingsley Fields community, with facilities that would encourage learning, physical activity and outdoor exploration. The development also presented opportunities to incorporate biodiversity measures and engage local children in the construction process.
Our Solution
Conlon delivered the new school and associated facilities, including:
- Eight classrooms across two floors
- Outdoor learning areas
- An athletics track and multi-use sports field
- A kitchen garden
- External play and recreational spaces
- Biodiversity measures incorporated into the development
The Outcome
Kingsbourne Academy provides additional school places for local families and a purpose-built environment for pupils to learn, develop and thrive. The completed project strengthens education provision in Nantwich and supports North West Academies Trust’s continued growth.
The scheme also builds on Conlon’s established relationship with Cheshire East Council and its experience delivering education and public-sector projects across the borough.
Our Social Value Impact
- Local suppliers engaged throughout the project
- Local children invited to take part in a steel-frame signing activity, adding their initials to a structural beam within their new school
