We are thrilled that one of our apprentice joiners, Daniel Atkinson (pictured with host George Clarke) has been judged the winner in two categories, “Overcoming Adversity in Construction” and “Apprentice of the Year”, at the Construction Development Alliance Annual Awards, held at Burnley Mechanics. The aim of the awards is to promote young professionals and recognise their achievements within the construction industry.

Conlon are one of Constructing the Future Lancashire’s strategic partners on their shared apprenticeship scheme, which is developed in partnership with Lancashire Housing Partnership, CITB Construction Skills, and Local Authorities.

The apprentices are employed by Constructing the Future Lancashire, then placed with local contractors for short term work placements.

The key benefit of the shared Apprenticeship scheme is that it keeps apprentices working locally, whilst giving an opportunity to work with a range of different contractors.

Guy Parker, Director, said:

This is great recognition for all the hard work Daniel has put in across a number of our sites now. We view training and development of young people as the key to the future of the construction industry and we look forward to continuing to work with both Daniel and other apprentices through Constructing the Future Lancashire’s shared apprenticeship scheme.
