Proud sponsor of the UK Corporate Games, Preston’s Conlon Construction marks its 50th anniversary this year, a celebration which coincides with the Games and the Preston Guild 2012 festivities.
Conlon is entering a team of 50 in its 50th year and is looking forward to competing against other businesses from across the county. Conlon will take part in the badminton, bowling, golf, go-karting, squash, table tennis, running, poker and cricket heats.
Theresa Noblett, Conlon chairman said:
It is a proud occasion for the company to be celebrating its golden anniversary during the year that Preston is to host the UK Corporate Games as well as the Preston Guild 2012 celebrations– it’s quite an achievement.
We are a family company and are looking forward to a party atmosphere throughout the games with lots of local support from our families and friends. We have never entered an event like this before and our team has been training hard in the lead up to the games.
We are really looking forward to competing and we have a few strong players taking part, including some former champions in certain sports. We are ready to give it our all next week!
Conlon will also enter a float with a construction theme in the Preston Guild 2012 Trades Procession, something Conlon took part in during the last Guild twenty years ago.
