We will soon be constructing a new two storey classroom extension to the Hawkshead Building at the Langdale Road Campus. The new building will accommodate eight new classrooms as well as staff and other support areas to meet the national demands for more English and Maths provision.
The extension is ideally situated between the sports hall and all weather pitch and will provide purpose designed accommodation bringing sports training activities together under one roof. The development will also free up existing teaching space enabling the college to relocate other departments.
The project is due for completion early June 2014.
Assistant principal David Sharrock said:
The plans to build an annex to sit beside our existing sports hall are a really exciting development, it will centralise the School of Sport, giving this key area the facilities to be World Class. Conlon is a local firm with a wealth of experience in the education sector, so seemed the perfect fit for delivering the building project, having previously carried out projects on site.
